This will be where the training happens for any new characters. This will be for joint character meetings and spars, cross-school student training, and a place where graduates can meet up to battle with their trained magics, MagiTech, and weapon schooling. Remember, a single character may only have one free magic school graduation and one free weaponry school graduation before going through a different school and actually role playing it out for it to count. This will be the only fight area within this forum that will not require a judge (or host to the story), since all of the characters can be present here. It would only be fair that there be no judges, if even the typical judges are going to role play in here. However, having an in-character judge is not at all prohibited; it is welcomed that you bring in anybody you can without making it overbearing for yourself. There may be multiple versions of this thread depending on how crowded it gets.
Remember the rules: - No God-Modding
- No Mary Sue/Gary Sue characters
- Be respectful and follow the general site rules.
There is no set story to this thread, so do not feel obligated to create one; this is just a testing ground/training area for new characters. On the other hand, one may also feel free to just have their characters loosely interact here in ways that will just get a feel for the personality. This area is not just for fighting, but overall character testing. You are free to create any environment you need, any situation that you wish to have; the ball is in your court here. I'll have my characters pop in if you really need someone else to bounce off from, however I will be slightly slower with doing so.

Character being tested: Oratus Sermus, post-Abjuration graduation. Parting the doors to the wide gym, if the grand and massive space could really be called that, Oratus took his time in flicking his eyeballs about the place. Stepping forward, he could feel the floor under him, and how it would grip well to his sneakers, while squeaking with every pivoting turn he made. Ceiling high enough that he had to tip up his pointy hat to spot it, sturdily constructed walls and equipment, and space wide enough to house a field, this was the place he needed to be, where he could get his spar with a student form another school. "They must have some money, here." He opened the front of his cloak with an arm-stretch, and let his hands rest on his hips, turning his head left and right to wait patiently. While doing so, he imagined himself placing seals about the place, and sneakily charging up mana beforehand, although he wasn't dishonest enough to do such, and by being fair he could see where his progress really was in his education. "Hmmm-hm-hmmm....hmmmm....hmhm-hmhm...."

Rehynn stepped into the large area, casting her glance around. She spotted the male, though she took inventory before actually paying much notice. She took a few steps into the room, and stood there with her arms crossed. Vaguely, she wondered if the man would notice her presence, though she hoped so. Whatever option it had been, she spoke up anyway. "You seem to like humming then." She said, in a joke towards his 'mmhm'ing she had heard when she entered. "My name is Rehynn. What's yours?"

After either hearing her enter, or hearing her call out to him, which depended perhaps on just how quiet she made herself, Oratus spun about with a playful teeter-totter. Then, lifting his pointy black hat upwards with a finger, he would quickly glance up and down her with his red eyes, humming further. "Hmmm. I guess I can't help my self when I'm in such a mood." Relaxing his arms, he would say with the playful rhythm of a hum, "I, am Oratus. However, Orion is always easier for people to remember, so call me that instead if you'd like, Rehynn. Are you to be my sparring partner today?"
( Sorry for taking a bit, things popped up the last couple of days.)

"If you would accept me as your partner, then yes. You choose the rules. Just magic? I'll be using illusionary magic if so." She smiled, though watching to see what his reaction was. She cracked her knuckles to free them for movement, and she chuckled lightly. She gave off the air of being carefree and at ease, as usual. She was wearing her usual loose clothing, easy to stretch and move in, and she produced a piece of elastic to tie her hair up; it had an annoying habit of falling in her face when she didn't.

"And accept I do," he said with a nod. "That would make things simple, however I'm fine with anything you may use as long as my life isn't extraordinarily put into more danger than would be necessary to win. I aim to do the same in return, if you are fine by those rules." Turning towards her to make his shoulders a tad more square to hers, he would slide out of his pocket a student's lined-paper, leather-covered notebook with two fingers, slipping it into his palm and quickly sliding his thumb along the inside to open it to two pages. A spell-circle was on each, drawn neatly in black. "You don't seem to be carrying guns at first glance, but still, I wouldn't want to be getting assaulted by SMG rounds."
Would Rehynn to have no objection, or any further comments to add, Oratus would slightly bend his knees, allow the ends of his cape to flutter slightly outward, and place two fingers onto one of the pages, initiating the pulling of mana into it for crafting an explosive fireball spell, simultaneously shouting, "Let's begin!" If she were to have anything else to add, then he would remain upright, and listen.

As soon as he knelt, she would have smiled, beginning the craft her own illusions in her mind. She took her hands out of her pockets, reaching for the dagger that was almost always concealed around the small of her back, just in case he decided to bring out a weapon. She would then start walking forwards, at a normal pace at first, ready to jump to either side if needed. "One other thing; try not to kill me. That's it."
-Phantasm [0] >She starts to create the phantasm in her mind, readying it to be unleashed.

Thanks for the warning. I thought it might be a good habit to get into though. I'll be experimenting for now, differing between putting them on and off. Thanks again ^.^

I was just thinking of keeping what was being done clear, and also sort of reminding myself quickly of what I was doing in case I were to have to walk away and come back later. I'll try to keep it from looking cloggy if I end up doing it alot, perhaps putting it into a spoiler.
"Of course," he said, the spell circle beginning to faintly glow a calm blue on the page of the notebook. "I would have to be a hypocrite to when I asked that of you." Sliding his right foot around behind him with his knees bent, he moved backwards a bit. Simultaneously, he would place his right hand upon the other open page of the notebook, which had a spell circle of similar design, although was really of a different purpose. Seeing her reach around her back, the corner of his mouth would twitch in unease, unsure of exactly what kind of small object would she pull out. Not that he would object or anything, but he knew that he would have to be incredibly quick to change tasks in the case of a firearm being pulled. 'I should consider firearm training myself if those are the kind of thoughts I'm having about it,' he thought to himself. -Explosive Fireball [1] -Wind Gust [0]

"True. Just I didn't know if you were one or not, is all." She smirked. She drew the dagger, holding it in a reverse grip to align with her arm. She watched him carefully, noting his stance and stopping, sliding into her own. She had decided to let him make the first move.

'Hm, I see," he thought, understanding that she meant for him to make the first move, and a bit relieved that she hadn't pulled a firearm on him. He just might be able to avoid making wards half of the time.
Keeping a good focus on his opponent, he took a bit of a skipping step forward to close the distance between them, landing with his left foot, and swinging his right foot around from behind him in a strong, swift, hook-like motion. The kick was aimed for Rehynn's knee, which ever one was most forward in her stance. (I assume she's taking a stance where one knee leads, and the feet are planted, but feel free to correct me if otherwise.) He intended to follow through after by bringing his knee up to slightly cross over his other leg.

As the leg came swinging towards her foremost leg, she took a step back; as the foot came swinging round, she moved her right leg back behind her left quickly, creating a space where otherwise the kick would have connected (as the right leg was the foremost in this case). The kick would've gone through air and continued to where he intended to end up, at which point she would advance, taking two steps forward quickly, similar to skipping, sending her left fist towards his face in a basic punch. As she does this, she releases the phantasm she was building in her mind. It would be hardly noticeable in the first few moments, but as she advanced it would seem as if the man's sight would blur slightly, similar to as if tears were welling in his eyes.

Allowing the swinging foot of his to hook upward, and his knee to rise up against his body, Oratus leaned his upper body backwards for two mainpurposes: balance with his follow through, and prepare for his next attack. Cautiously eyeing his opponent stepping back and making her move forward, he focused on the left side of her mid-section while continuing to lean back, perhaps twisting his head back a little unconsciously to further be able to avoid the strike of the fist. He would then immediately drive his heel outward towards the bottom of her rib, figuring her to be coming forward, with his left leg remaining stiffly planted on the ground, and right arm pulling tight across his body to generate additional torque. Balance was key, in Oratus'es mind, and were someone to take a snapshot, he would laugh at how much he would like like the a short capital letter 'T'.
The tears that were to come would be something he wouldn't necessarily notice at first, the adrenaline making him think it was just the rushing air irritating his eyes. Whilst this action was carrying forward, the spell circles on the pages of the spellbook continued to glow slightly brighter, and continued to take in mana from the land.
-Explosive Fireball [3] -Wind Gust [2] -The spell circles continued to build mana, pulling from the land.
